Paint Effects Colourwashes
 |
 |
Colourwashing is perhaps the most effective and flexible technique in the treatment of walls. Colourwashes have a fantastic depth of colour as often more than one colour is used to achieve the desired effect. They are also an excellent finish for walls that are in poor condition as they can hide many imperfections or exploit them to ones advantage.
With the depth of colour achieved by colourwashes the final results are eye-catching and completely original to your home.
Due to the techniques used to achieve a colourwash the final finish can be subtle and ‘cloudy’, heavily rustic or anything in between. It all depends on the type of paint used and how the glazes are applied
Rustic colourwashes for example work particularly well in older properties and cottages, whilst ‘cloudy’ colourwashes work well in any room of any house. They are an ideal background to stencil work and also work fantastically in a two-tone stripe effect.
Imaginative Interiors has used colourwashes to great effect in the past and prides itself on knowing which type of colourwash will work best in any given situation.
